Sizing
EcaPants are designed to fit very trim (click here to see models). The waistline should rest below the belly button, an inch or more . If your baby has a nice big gut like mine did, they will settle right underneath it at the crease. The back will settle right at the top of the bum. They rest like 'hiphuggers' for many babies.
For the the best fit please measure your nekkid baby's waist, placing the tape measure 1"-1.5" beneath the belly button (or at the crease under the belly for really big pouches). Next, measure the leg circumference at the hip joint; where a bikini cut style leg opening would rest. Lastly, measure the ‘rise' too. The 'rise' means the measurement from the back waistline to the front; measuring between the legs. To be more clear, you would be making the letter 'u' with the tape measure between the baby's legs. Start and end the 'U' where you measured the waistline-beneath the belly button.
"What?" you say, you don't have a tape measure? That's just fine. Simply take a string and measure by starting with the cut end. End by pinching your finger on the string where the measurement ends. Place the string on a straight ruler and measure from the cut end to where your finger is pinching.
Weight is approximate. The chart works best when all measurements are taken into account.
When deciding on size, make sure you are not choosing a size that places your baby's waist line close to the largest setting; otherwise you baby may grow out of them too fast! If you choose at the very beginning of a size, remember the fit will become more ideal as the baby grows a bit (but should still fit great!); a plus in choosing this way is that they will last along time! If your baby doesn't quite fit anywhere in the chart, email me with measurements. Usually I can make adjustments or recommendations to accomodate any fit. Also, if I get enough inquiries for an extra large size it will push me to have them out quicker!
And the last few things.. All shrinkable fabric is preshrunk. Elastic will become more bouncy after a hot wash and dry.
If you need help with choosing a size, please email me and I'll be happy to assist.
*note: These training pants work best for children who still need assistance undressing for the bathroom, therefore our size large may be smaller than 'normal' training pants.
