Sizing
EcaPants are designed to fit very trim (click here to see models). The waistline should rest below the belly button, an inch or more. If your baby has a nice big gut like mine does, they will settle right underneath it at the crease. The back will settle right at the top of the bum. They rest like 'hiphuggers' for many babies.
For the the best fit please measure your nekkid baby's waist, placing the tape measure an inch or so beneath the belly button (or at the crease under the belly for really big pouches). Next, measure the leg circumference at the hip joint; where a bikini cut style leg opening would rest. I have found that these two measurements are the most important when determining size. Lastly, measure the ‘rise' too. The 'rise' means the measurement from the back waistline to the front; measuring between the legs. To be more clear, you would be making the letter 'u' with the tape measure between the baby's legs. Sizing chart below!
(I would like to make sizing less complicated, but since this is a new product it is best to do all measurements until I receive more sizing feedback from customers. Eventually I will add age and weight to make choosing easier.)
"What?" you say, you don't have a tape measure? That's just fine. Simply take a string and measure by starting with the cut end. End by pinching your finger on the string where the measurement ends. Place the string on a straight ruler and measure from the cut end to wear your finger is pinching.
When deciding on size, make sure you are not choosing a size that places your baby's waist line close to the largest setting; otherwise you baby may grow out of them too fast! If you choose at the very beginning of a size, remember the fit will become more ideal as the baby grows a bit (but should still fit!); a plus in choosing this way is that they will last along time! If your baby doesn't quite fit anywhere in the chart, email me with measurements. Often I can make adjustments to accomodate any fit. Also, if I get enough inquiries for an extra large size it will push me to have them out quicker! If you need help with choosing a size, please email me and I'll be happy to assist.
As this is a new product, your input about the fit is greatly appreciated. Let me know how the sizing chart worked for you by clicking here; and be entered in a drawing for a free pair of your choice on the first of every month!
